William Ford

Post by David Ryder 107 » Sun Aug 04, 2019 4:25 pm

Hello I am trying to date a William Ford Boxlock. It has a patent action with what apears to be a gas check in the fences. Damascus barrels with a broad rib with an exaggerated ramp akin to a modern trap gun. It is numbered 2683 and has 1896 standard Birmingham proof marks.

Many thanks

Hi David,

That would be a gun started in 1893 but perhaps not finished until 1896.

Here’s an odd one ! I took my ukulele for repair to Barry Ford
It would appear he is the Grandson of William Ford
Small world eh !
