I was hoping some one can shed some light on this (.) Dot on the upper middle of the proof date mark from 1951. The gun is a BSA "Regent" model and was proofed in 51, but was manufactured specifically for the RAF (1940-1945) for wartime training, would the military have proofed the gun for use prior to being proofed in B'ham for civilian use? There is only one set of proof on the flats, no reproof marks. Thanks for helping decode histories mysteries!
