Samuel Ebrall

I am at present looking at a 16 Bore Percussion shotgun by Samuel Ebrall, that a friend has recently purchased and has asked me to get it rebrowned and that checkering redone. What i find interesting is that is a very plain basic grade gun but has 2 safety features of interest. 1. It has slides on the flats of the action which when activated slide into indents on the hammers when the gun is at half cock. When the gun at full cock it cannot be fired unless "Tang" on the bottom of the wrist is depressed. I have read the history as provided but find it of interest that 2 safety features appear on what must have been a basic gun. Murray

Further update on the Ebrall. It appears that this is the stock and action from a rifle married with 16 bore shotgun barrels from the same maker. Murray
