E. Anson boxlock ser #37647
I understand that the website may have information about specific guns based on serial number. I have an E. Anson boxlock serial # 37647. I would like to know when it was produced, and any other information that might be available for it. Thanks and regards, Garrett Erickson

With a serial number that large I’d guess the gun to be a trade gun sold by the fellow Anson.
Chances are it would be one of the large Birmingham firms that made it.

Only four guns by E Anson have been recorded, all with the Egyptian Hall address which was, in fact, his fathers. The numbers range from 500 to 5000. Yours must be a trade gun bearing the maker's number. Full history of both Ansons in the database.

Thanks for that info John. Mine also has the Egyptian Hall address and the name E. Anson on the rib, and is in what appears to be it's original case with a well worn, but correct label. Garrett.
