Front barrel lump cocking system
I’ve come across a boxlock with John Dickson Edinburgh on the the top rib but no markings on the action. What’s interesting is it has a front lump cocking system. The front lump is recessed and two cocking dogs in the barrel channel in the action engage this recess to cocking the gun. Anyone familiar with this type of action? I don’t think Dickson made the gun, but most likely made a set of barrels for it.

Do you have a photo you can post, Rick?
Sounds intriguing. I've always had an interest in self or assisted opening boxlocks, for which there are very few patents. Gough Thomas had an interesting one but sadly very few examples were made, all I believe by Westley Richards.
