No records exist. There were 25 Cashmores in the Birmingham gun trade but only William continued trading into the 1900s. Some serial numbers have been recorded on guns put up for sale from time to time and 16825 is one of them. When seen it was dated to 1904 to 1925 from the proof marks, but by comparing it's number with the others in the 1904 to 1925 range it is possible to date it more accurately to about 1910 give or take 2-3 years. Our history of William Cashmore gives patent information which you might like to consider in relation to your gun, it also shows the most beautiful gun case label ever stuck on a gun case - the only William Cashmore label we've ever seen.
I would like to express my thanks to John 39 for the information he was able to provide on my Wm. Cashmore 12 bore. I will now attempt to find and reproduce a case label. I only regret that I am still somewhat inept when it comes to using my I-pad. Once again, many thanks John.
