Hi Im looking for more info i hope some one could help.
I have a Watson Bros ejector 20 bore with Damascus barrels serial number 6226 with Bury Street St James engraved on the Barrels. Grant moved to Bury street in 1920 Watson sold the company to him in 1935 but moved to 67 st James Street .
There seems to be a gap, as far as I can tell Arthur Watson went to work for Grant in Bury st but i dont know when.
Im just looking for the history of this gun, anyone that can point me in the right direction would be great
Cheers
Simon

Re: Watson Bros Damascus 20 bore
You say your gun was made between 1920 and 1936. It was not, your gun dates to 1901 and this fits with the damascus barrels. Nobody used damascus barrels after 1914.
Gap? What gap? You need to look at the history of Stephen Grant as well as the Watsons. There were two Arthur Watsons, the second moved in 1935.
I don't see where you got the 67A address from.

Thanks, im still a bit confused, watson didn’t move to Bury st until 1920 as far as i can tell thats is why i made the assumption. Thanks for your reply
Re: Watson Bros Damascus 20 bore
Grant & Lang moved to Bury Street in 1920 and bought Watsons in 1935 just before Arthur Henry died. Arthur Dudley worked for Grant & Lang from 1935 to 1955. After the take-over all 20 bores were sold under the Watson name but yours was probably made in Birmingham a and just finished in London. Have you got hold of Atkin Grant & Lang, Windmill Road, Markyate St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL3 8LP. Phone: 01582 849 382". They may be able to tell you more.
