Re: Alfred Davis (J. Blanch)
The 4 Hampton address catalog I got from Cornell press states it was from 1925. I’ll check the proofs on the boxlock I have with the Hampton road address. Very curious indeed! He may have started in Ilford and made his way to London proper by the 30’s.

Re: Alfred Davis (J. Blanch)
Thank you John! I presume the two Alfred Davis entries are the same individual? This gun peaked my curiosity marked by both.

Alfred Davis (J. Blanch)
Was curious to see if there was more info on him than what is in the database? Did he get guns from Blanch & Sons?

any in depth look at Braddells out of Belfast
Was curious to see if any indepth look has been done? I know the records were once available, but no contact info these days. Were they a retailer, maker or both and any clue who may have supplied or did they supply to the gun trade?

Re: Letter prefixes before serial numbers on trade guns
Yes john, I got them, what a list and thank you so much! This info really brings to light the expanse of the gun trade in the UK! It still boggles the mind, with such a profound profession back then that there are few who still practice the craft these days. I mainly have focused my passion for doub...

Letter prefixes before serial numbers on trade guns
I posted this over on the doublegunshop, so far no response, so thought I Iwould try here and knock off some of the cobwebs here with a little speculation and discussion on the gun trade! Ok so who is familiar with prefix letters before serial numbers on British trade guns? Is there a listing or ref...

Grahams of Iverness
Was curious if Grahams was an actual maker or were guns brought in from B'ham and marketed as Grahams? Also if Grahams was in production do you think they could have supplied provincial makers in Scotland with actions? Thanks for any speculation in an otherwise spiderweb of confusion of the British ...

The endless quest for knowledge... B'ham proofs
I was hoping some one can shed some light on this (.) Dot on the upper middle of the proof date mark from 1951. The gun is a BSA "Regent" model and was proofed in 51, but was manufactured specifically for the RAF (1940-1945) for wartime training, would the military have proofed the gun for use prior...
